It should be a good location to wait out the storm. It is slightly on a slope - and according to staff it never been flooded at this hotel. We decided to go to Krabi since the mainland would take away some of the power of the storm once it reaches here. After seeing the pictures of Nakhon Si Thammarat province we decided against staying in Surat Thani, which would be hit tonight.
